How to increase DYOWA group members beyond 256

WhatsApp’s familiar 256-person ceiling can stop a large family, sporting or community chat from expanding. DYOWA may expose a larger member limit through its modified settings, allowing the group participant cap to rise where the installed release supports it.

Support varies by build. Some newer official WhatsApp versions already allow larger groups, while older clients and certain mod releases still retain 256. The developer’s release notes and the actual WhatsApp base version matter more than screenshots copied from another APK.

An unofficial APK also carries update, privacy and account-verification risks. The reliable approach is to check your build, preserve access to existing chats, change one setting and test with a small group before moving an active Australian community into it.

Confirm the build and its supported limit

Open DYOWA and locate its version number in Settings or About. Compare that number with the release archive, and note whether the listing mentions elevated group capacity. Test the change and recover if needed
