Setting up a custom Seen timestamp display format in Delta YOWA

Delta YOWA gives Android users more control over the way WhatsApp conversations look and behave. Alongside themes, privacy options and notification tools, some releases include display controls for the time shown beside messages marked as seen. A carefully chosen format can make chats easier to scan without changing the underlying message status.

The exact menu names can differ between Delta YOWA builds, so the setting may appear under conversation appearance, chat screen, universal settings or a style panel. This guide explains how to locate the control, choose a readable timestamp pattern and check the result on an Australian phone using either home Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Why change the seen timestamp style

The default timestamp may show only a short time, such as 8:42 pm, while other builds use a 24-hour clock or include the day and date. A custom display can be useful when you regularly return to long conversations and need to know whether a message was seen this morning, yesterday or several days earlier.

A compact time-only format suits quick chats, while a fuller date-and-time layout is more practical for work, study or family groups. Someone moving between Sydney and Melbourne may also prefer a consistent 24-hour display, especially when checking messages during commuting hours or switching between daylight-saving periods.

Check your build before editing

Open Delta YOWA and review the version information before changing any visual setting. Modified APKs can reorganise their menus between releases, and a setting documented for an older package may be missing or renamed. Saving a backup of important conversations is sensible before installing an update or changing advanced preferences.

Confirm that the APK came from a source you trust, and avoid granting unnecessary access to contacts, files or accessibility tools. If a download page redirects through unfamiliar regional sites, treat it carefully; even Surabaya pages should be considered a lead for information rather than proof that an APK is safe. Australian users should also watch their prepaid data allowance when downloading large replacement packages over mobile broadband.

Locate the timestamp controls

Start with Delta YOWA’s main menu, then open the area labelled Delta Settings, YOWA Settings or a similar customisation panel. Look for entries such as Conversation screen, Chat screen, Messages, Bubble and ticks, or Timestamp style. Some versions place the option inside a visual editor rather than a privacy menu.

If the app includes an internal search field, try terms such as “timestamp”, “time format”, “seen”, “date”, or “message style”. Read the description beside each result because a control may affect the message time, online indicator, last seen status or notification preview. These are separate functions, even though their labels can appear close together.

Choose a readable format

Select the closest available pattern instead of changing several appearance settings at once. Common choices include a 12-hour clock with am or pm, a 24-hour clock, a time with the date, or a relative label such as today and yesterday. If Delta YOWA offers manual formatting symbols, follow the examples shown in the app because supported codes vary between builds.

A 24-hour format such as 18:35 is clear in busy group chats and avoids confusion between morning and evening. A day-and-month arrangement such as 06/09 can be less clear because date conventions differ internationally, so Australian users may prefer a format that spells out the month or uses a four-digit year for older messages.

Apply the change without disturbing privacy

After selecting the display style, tap Apply, Save or a similar button. Some releases require a restart, while others refresh the conversation screen immediately. Force-closing the app and reopening it can reload the theme engine, but avoid clearing app data unless you have a verified backup.

The timestamp appearance is separate from read receipts and last seen privacy. Turning off blue ticks, hiding online status or restricting who can view your activity will not usually change the visual format of a message time. If privacy is your priority, review those controls independently rather than assuming a timestamp change affects them.

Test the new timestamp in real chats

Send a test message to a trusted contact or a personal secondary account, then open the conversation after it has been viewed. Check the display in a one-to-one chat, a group and a message received on a different day. This shows whether the format applies consistently or changes according to the age of the message.

Also test the layout with longer contact names and system font sizes. A style that looks neat on a newer Google Pixel may wrap awkwardly on a budget handset commonly sold through Australian retailers. Check the result on both Wi-Fi and mobile data if Delta YOWA uses an online theme or remote resource.

Fix missing or inconsistent formatting

If the setting does not appear, your Delta YOWA release may not support custom seen timestamps, or the function may be limited to a particular base version. Check the app’s release notes and compare the build with other WhatsApp modifications, such as the features described in this FMWhatsApp guide, before replacing the package.

When the time appears incorrectly, return to the default format, restart the app and test again. A mismatch can come from Android’s regional language settings, a 12-hour versus 24-hour system preference, or a theme that overrides chat text. Updating Android’s date and time settings to automatic network time can also prevent confusing results after travel or daylight-saving changes in states such as New South Wales and Victoria.

Keep a note of the format you selected and the Delta YOWA version that worked. Future updates may reset custom preferences, and restoring a saved configuration from a different build can produce layout errors. Recheck permissions and privacy options after every APK update, particularly when the package was installed outside Google Play.

For version-specific clarification or to report a broken menu path, use the site’s contact page and include your Android version, Delta YOWA build number and the labels visible in your settings. Download only from sources you can assess, keep a current chat backup, and test the timestamp on a small conversation before applying a new theme or configuration across the app.
